Names & Nom de Plumes

As the saying goes, "What's in a name? That which we call a rose

By any other name would smell as sweet.” (Thanks, Will.)

I’ve been considering a name change for a while. My first name as an independent provider was Tamara Rose, and when I started to dive into it more seriously I added a syllable on to become Tamara Rosette - this is likely how you know me, at the time of this blog posting. I chose it with homage to a favorite artist of mine: Tamara de Lempicka, “The Baroness with a Brush”, who has inspired me in my personal artistic pursuits for years.

I think I’ve grown into my own identity through this work and I’m excited to claim it with a fresh name.

This year I’ve gone through a lot of transitions: I left my civilian job, dove into Tamara full-time, and have seen all of my hard work returned to me in pure joy. I’ve started to travel more, as this work enables and inspires. I’ve met wonderful people, had my fair share of excellent conversation and eaten countless mouth-watering meals (and if you’ve shared one with me, you know how shameless my enjoyment is.) As this year comes to a close - where has the time gone? - I thought I’d round it out in a new identity, one that feels more true to where I am now.

For all of my current friends, you can call me whichever name sticks to your tongue easier! I will be forwarding all my previous addresses and hopefully will tie up all loose ends there, though I appreciate any tip offs if I slip. I’m not a new person, but my name fits closer to my skin now.

I’m headed off to vacation, and I can’t wait to see everyone when I get back, feeling brand new in so many ways. 💋
